1. I'm old. Old and absent-minded. It would seem that I have a tendancy to work on blog posts and then forget to finish them before I upload them. Case in point, I actually had a lot more to say about the Arcade Fire album. I was then going to seque into a discussion of Sound Opinions on NPR and then possibly discuss the entire Saturday lineup of NPR. It was going to be quite interesting. But then I really had to get my thoughts down about the White Sox commercial and then forgot to get back to it. So, now that I have this opportunity to correct all of that, I won't. I don't have time right now. I will just say that, althought I think the joke* was funny (take it behind the middle school and get it pregnant), it may have been a poor choice of words to describe a song about exploiting a young girl in the name of God.
2. I'm old. Old and absent-minded. It would seem that I have a tendancy to make promises on this blog and then not follow through on them. Case in point, is there anyone out there on pins and needles, eagerly awaiting the review of Snakes on a Plane that I promises so many months ago? Well, I really have no desire to dedicate that much thought and energy to that movie, so here's my quick and dirty review. If you haven't seen it now, it's too late. The only way this movie is enjoyable is in a theater full of people who went there knowing that it was a bad movie and were there to mock and jeer and laugh. Because, really, it was the experience of being there that was fun, not the movie itself. So, there you go. Now I can check that off the list.
3. Grrr. I can't find the link but, I assure you, The Chicago Tribune agrees with me that the Pedigree Dog Kennel commercial is the saddest commercial in the world.
4. Since we're highlighting friend's accomplishments, go read about how Andy kicked some Consumerist butt for stealing his photos. Now, it seems like they've since made good on their promise to only use photos that the owners have allowed to be shared, so I thnk we can all feel comfortable going back to The Consumerist site, because I actually do like that site and visit it regularly.
5. I should probably mention something about the EXCLAIM!wear store.
* It's not even my joke. I stole it from 30 Rock.
